i was on the treadmill the other nite, and was looking at my legs. It's weird how my legs moved- like i didnt control them at all.
Anywayz, i'm at the hive now doing my 'duty', and am just doing some updates.
The hive is located at lavender street. The postman which has been delivering letters to this area of singapore for the past 30yrs told spencer on the history of the how the name of this street came about.
In the 1940s-50s, Singapore didnt have the proper sanitation system that we're so use to today. During that time, people shat into buckets which were then collected and disposed of by 'shit-collecters'. Lavender street had these so called 'collection centers'. In order to musk the smell of shit, they used lavender scent to overcome the smell - thus lavender street came about. Another fun fact is that the very same shophouse that we're on use to be a hotel called 'lavender hotel'. we had an idea to rename our hostel to 'lavender hotel' and add a 'since 1955' to it. But i think the original owner wouldnt be too happy. heh heh
